Soul has played a huge part in each member’s
musical career that all boast excellent musical pedigrees that read
like a who’s who. Glen Hughes, Musical Youth, Steve Gibbons, Bitty
McClean, Screaming Lord Sutch & Ruby Turner.
Combining years of experience in all types
of venues, from small clubs to the Royal Albert Hall, they’ve
appeared with: the Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The
Three Degrees, Johnny Bristol, Marv Johnson, Geno Washington, Edwin
Starr, Freda Payne, Eddie Holman, The contours, Jimmy James, Gary U.S.
Bonds & Sister Sledge – to name but a few! They have also
enjoyed a sell out week at Ronnie Scott’s and more recently Lenny
Henry chose them for his end of series party.
In September 1996, The Soul Survivors
under took a national ten week theatre tour in Nick Pemberton’s
soul musical thriller Hold Back The Night to which they received rave
reviews.
1997 is already set to be a very busy
year. In February, the Soul Survivors star in their own show with special
quests The Divas and Ian “Sludge” Lees, at the Grand Theatre,
Wolverhampton and The Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham.
March sees the band back in the theatre,
touring nationally in “The Classic Soul Show”. |
